Susan Fichtelberg
Susan Fichtelberg is the author of Encountering Enchantment: A Guide to Speculative Fiction forTeens. In her 19 years as a children’s librarian for the Woodbridge Public Library, Susan has served as the president of the Children’s Services Section of the New Jersey Library Association and twice chaired the Garden State Children’s Book Award Committee. She has presented fantasy programs at state and national conferences. Her newest book, co-authored with Bonnie Kunzel, is TamoraPierce: A Student Companion to Young Adult Literature, released in August 2007.
Diana Tixier Herald
Diana Tixier Herald, a past member of the Printz committee, leads workshops around the country on readers’ advisory service and genre fiction. Her publications include the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth editions of Genreflecting: A Guide to Reading Interests, Teen Genreflecting, Fluent in Fantasy, and Strictly Science Fiction, which she co-authored with Bonnie Kunzel. Her newest book, co-author with Bonnie, is Fluent in Fantasy: The Next Generation and will be released in December 2007.
Bonnie Kunzel, a past-president of YALSA and a New Jersey Librarian of the Year, teaches the Bureau of Educational Research’s seminar on young adult classics. An acknowledged expert in science fiction and fantasy, she presents literature programs around the country, reviews for VOYA, and has co-authored: First Contact, Strictly Science Fiction, The Teen-Centered Book Club, and Tamora Pierce: A Student Companion to Young Adult Literature.
Each experienced speaker is
available to present PowerPoint
literature programs for teachers,
librarians, and media specialists,
for expenses and a negotiated
honorarium. Workshops can be
presented by one, two, or all
three speakers.
